The day that this blog became a reality, Jen from I Heart Organizing posted a “Four Day Four Drawer Challenge.” Well, I was hooked!
After a summer-long marathon of cleaning, purging, painting, moving furniture, and the general chaos resulting from moving all four kiddos’ bedrooms, I was tired of big projects and longed for a little organizing project. (Okay, who am I kidding, that drawer has been bugging me since July…but I had to keep my eyes on the prize.) Call it fate, call it kismet, but that darned Tupperware drawer would not even come close to closing within minutes of reading Jen’s challenge!
And ewwww ICK! Yucky things had accumulated in the bottoms and crevices of my drawer organizers and shelf liner.
and a dirty drawer liner
But, thankfully I used my FAVE drawer liners and drawer organizing bins from IKEA. I washed everything clean…
Then I reorganized everybody and VIOLA! A super clean drawer ready for busy breakfasts and school lunches!
Now we are one drawer closer to being ready for back to school!
One final note, this drawer project took less than thirty minutes. By limiting the number of different containers and choosing containers that use the same lids, everything stacks well and stays pretty organized for a while. In my experience, Tupperware is my favorite for their cereal bowls and little bowls (I am not affiliated with them in any way, just my opinion.) Although they are a bit more expensive, their products last through daily use (some of our cereal bowls are 12 years old and are just getting replaced this year!) For the fridge I choose square and rectangular storage so that there is no wasted space. This is super important with a counter-depth fridge and four little kiddos.
Is your Tupperware drawer organized? What are your favorite Tupperware pieces?
Thanks for stopping by!
